The Group

History

More than 50 years ago, Raymond Garceau founded Magnéto, an automobile parts distributor.

Throughout the years, Magnéto added products from manufacturers such as Gresen, Eaton/Char-Lynn and (Abex) Denison to its distribution line, eventually opening its hydraulics division. In 1976, the Company sold its automobile parts division and changed its name to Magnéto Hydraulique et Pneumatique Inc.

In the mid-90s, an expansion project took form in order to serve Magnéto’s clientele in the industrial regions of the province. Offices in Chicoutimi, Québec City and Laval opened to create Groupe Magnéto. Recently, a new company was added to the Group. It occupies presently part of the corporate headquarters in Boucherville.
