Magnéto designs a hydraulic system for naval cranes including the programming of an automated lifting cycle activated by radio control to automate the loading and unloading of an aluminium ingot transport vessel.
The system is used to load and unload lifting baskets, perform a cycle of lifting loads, rotating the crane, and lowering loads. Once the baskets are loaded and/or unloaded, forklift operators approve the system to go into automatic cycle using small portable remote control joysticks. 3D cameras have also been installed to ensure the safety of workers near the crane when it is in operation.
The cargo ship operates on the St. Lawrence River, but also on the east coast of Canada and the United States, supplying some American customers.
